Can't

Before I start talking about today's topic, " can't" . 

 Let's take a look at the Watami beef rice. It's super delicious and student meal only cost SGD 4.90, can't believe that it's so affordable and it taste like the pepper rice that I'm absolutely in love with! It's more than enough for me to finish and their menus are pretty interesting, will try more of their food from there the next time! 

Anyway, I was thinking a lot recently about lots of stuff going in my life right now. Especially now that I'm turning 18, throughout my teens year it's normal to hear the " can't " word. Like : " you can't do it" , " you can't achieve that" & there's always someone in your life telling you off saying you can't you can't and you can't for whatever stuff concerning. 

Personally, I think there's nothing in the world you can't do with the given circumstances unless you decided to give up and not do it. 

I really dislike negative sources of energy, telling me that I can't do it instead of spreading this negativity I hope people actually starts spreading positive energy and change the " can't" to "can" it really does make a big difference and impact on people's life. 

I really wish that everyone can follow their dream and cast out all the "can't" in their life and starts living the life according to their own set of rules instead of listening to others criticism.

Vegan Burger

Before I actually talk about the " Vegan Burger" experience, let me share with you my outfit! It's a simple floral romper, romper is perfect for the weather right now since it can be a little hot but gets a little cold during the evening. When it gets cold, I can just put on a cardigan or jacket. In conclusion, I think romper isn't girl Bestfriend when it's time for the bathroom trip. Sometimes I take so long that people might thought I fall inside the bathroom. 

Anyway, here's the Vegan Burger! I tried it with my friend at Grandstand, it's located at the first floor. Firstly, I actually walked into the store without looking at the store name cause I was attracted by the menu with burgers on it. The menu basically look like this: 

Then I thought that it's a normal burger, it's going to taste so good with all the meat. Then when I placed my order, the cashier told me that it's a Vegan Burger so the meat is soy patty in simple term "fake meat" then I was like shocked. Wow soy patty, it's going to be so healthy! I wonder how it's gonna taste like! So I ordered the Hawaii Burger with the pineapple inside~ 

The taste of the burger is actually bearable, not that I hate vegetable in fact I love vegetables but the soy patty just isn't suitable for my taste bud. It's overly sweet and doesn't taste like meat for me ): being a vegan must be a very tough life changing decision, those people who can do the vegan diet is really very healthy and totally something I look up to but I'll never go for that cause it's just too much for me to bear!

In the end, I was just munching my fries and finish some of the burger. The burger cost around SGD 6.90 there, if you make it into a set it'll be around $10-$12. 

Calories of the soy patty: 129 calories, which is obviously a healthier choice as compared to other burgers.

Let's be Geek together

Went cafe hopping again, it's like my new found habit to discover new café and try out all their different food. This time round I went to Dome Café for the second time but I finally get to try their "All Day Breakfast" . Again, this is the most affordable café ever? Their breakfast set only cost SGD 7.90 to SGD 10.90. I wanted to try their fruit set but they ran out of fruit, so it'll be the next thing I'll try when I go there the next time. 

It's Dempsey Hill, the area with really pretty café. Finally wearing shorts after a long while of hiding my leg with denim jeans and long skirt, panty hose which doesn't give me a pleasant feel. It's good to let my hidden skin face the sun and soak up all the good vitamin (:

Rider's Café

Something relaxing for café trip, discovering café has been my new habit since my friend introduce my to it! It's really good to try out different café with different theme and feel, so I wore something in a plain color: red and white for the day. It's a off shoulder top with red skater skirt, very vintage feel to go along with the café I'm going! 

The new café we discovered will be Rider's Café, located at Bukit Timah. It's like the area I lived in have all the wonderful food, it's super rural and actually hard to find so taking a cab solved all the problems e.g getting lost or rain. Beside the café there are horse riding areas, farm house and a golf club there. Wanted to ride the horse but it's raining so better luck next time. 

Ordered: The lemon posset & truffle fries along with lime juice to go along. The total price is SGD 28. 

The lemon posset is a refreshing dessert that's perfect for a hot summer day, super yummy with all the blueberries and strawberries! My favorite, it's super sweet! 

The truffle fries is like any other truffle fries just that it isn't the thick fries type, personally prefer thick fries but it's still good! Lime juice is well like juice that taste a bit sour. 

It's funny how we ordered, 3 different flavors : sweet, salted and sour. A challenge for our taste buds! 

Will definitely visit the place again whenever I have time (: thank you for reading.

Found this hidden cafe at Outram Park, it's located near The Stranger Reunion cafe (just about 2-3 minutes walk straight up). Actually planned to go Stranger's Reunion but the queue was just too long. This cafe offers complimentary bread for their customer, which also meant free of charge bread which taste so delicious that we actually wanted to just eat the bread and not order anything else. But we did ordered something cause it's just awkward not to, we tried the Truffle Fries. 

Price: SGD 9 

The fries is delicious and it take about 3 person to finish this basket, it's like brunch and just so filling. I just can't resist things like fries, it's too tempting that I forget about my diet and everything. This cafe also don't charge their customer service charges, which is absolutely hard to find now.

Best to satisfied myself when I have cravings for dessert~

Thoughts on food

Food - Something that keeps me happy, an essential. 

I always have a hard time understanding why I am only allow to eat 3 meals a day: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Whenever I go out, I'll be the one that ask " what are we gonna have for the next meal" even though I just ate something. I think eating is more than just keeping the body functional, it's something that makes me happy. Who cares about the extra calories of the ice cream, chocolate pie, waffles with cream? As long as it makes me happy, I'm gonna eat them. 

So I'm more than happy when I tried out Kraze Burger in Marina Bay Sands (MBS). But I didn't exactly eat the burger there, I ate their spaghetti and it's delicious. 

Pricing: $14-$30 

Actually I wanted to order the kids meal cause it's so adorable, the kids meal comes in 3 different design and it's only $10. But I didn't get the chance to order it but the next time I go, I'll absolutely order the kid meal!

Bricks n Cubes Café: Reclaiming Childhood

I was too excited when I saw this cafe so I didn't get to snap a nice photo. The cafe look so cute and totally remind me of my childhood when I play with the Legos. It's situated at The Cathay, 2 Handy Road. 

The menu consist of hot dogs, a huge selection of cakes, teas, juice and coffee. The tea is refillable which makes it a perfect place to go with friends or go on dates, to just sit down there and chit chat!

The best thing about the cafe will be that, there's an iPad with games attached to each table. When I see the iPad, I'm like "Oh Yes, Game + Food = Perfection" . The game are all the Legos related game, it's super cuteee and it's absolutely the best thing ever. 

I didn't like the tiramisu cause I'm not a big fan of coffee related stuff but I love the English Breakfast Tea. The services at the cafe was absolutely great (:

A trip around Batam.

Remember that I was talking about, trip planning in my earlier post. I actually planned a trip to Batam and here's the update about it and it might actually help people who wants to go there in the future! 

That's my outfit when I went to Batam yesterday, it's been a long and wonderful day. I started off my journey at 8:40am, woke up at 6am to prepare and had a hearty breakfast at Hans. The boat ride to Batam, took about 45 minutes. I was too busy talking to fall asleep~ 

Once we reached, I went and bought a sims card that allows me to get 3G at around SGD 9 for 2GB. Then we took a cab to waterfront city BUT it was actually closed down and all the sports activities moved to Hollandview City, so it was a wasted trip. The total cab fare for this is around SGD 21.50 (200,000 Rupeeh) . Did I mentioned that the cab fare in Batam is freaking overprice and too expensive ? 

At the Hollandview city we did kayaking! Super fun and quite cheap, it's around SGD 10 for double kayaking for about 30 minutes. It has pretty nice view, serene environment to chit chat and kayak! Just make sure you don't fall into the river cause it might actually stink. 

Walking straight after doing kayaking wasn't the smartest choice, we opt to walk to the nearest restaurent known as "Golden Prawn" since it's the only restaurent there. It's not like we have any choice but we took about 20-30 minutes to walk there but the weather was such a killer. 

Golden Prawn food, the food is yummy and delicious but the Golden Prawn surely doesn't match the prawn it served. The prawn we ordered were like the super tiny size one, totally different from what I expected. But the price was pretty reasonable, everything is around SGD 3-SGD 8. 

Cab Price: From Golden Prawn- Beach- Ngogaya Hill (SGD 27) - cheapest cab we took, it's like a black car type do look out for it if you're going to batam. It'll be the cheapest cab ever. 

Batam Beach, I was the only awkward turtle wearing bikini there. Everyone else was covered up, definitely something new. The view was nice from afar, there's also this nice cafe there selling the best food I had in Batam. 

Featuring: Starwberry Booster, Strawberry Milkshake. 

Price: SGD 2.9 for each, something you can't find in Singapore cafe for such a price. 

We did something really silly and fun there, it's something I'll never ever dare to try again but I had such a good laugh over it. 

Ngogaya Hill Shopping Centre, the stuff there are really cheap but just different from my taste. Bought soft toy there for my brother, they usually sell clothing, perfume, make up etc. 

Balerang Bridge, it's like one of the famous tourist attraction there. It's actually nothing much, just a lot of street food selling corns, cup noodles, bottled water etc. Almost all the stores sell the same thing but too bad I didn't get to try them. 

We had dinner at one of the local restaurent there, the food was really delicious. But we had problem ordering the food due to little bit of communication problem, I think it's a wonderful experience to experience the real life local culture there. 

That sums up the trip to Batam, it's a wonderful and enjoyable time there to relax. It's funny that we spend almost half of our money on cabbing, in total it'll be a nice place to go with your boyfriend/ girlfriend to get to know each other better and bond cause there are actually lots of stuff to talk about during all the long cab rides. 

Floral x Floral : How to plan for a trip

I love floral crown, it's just so beautiful! I gotten my one and only floral crown from cotton on for $9 only. Super cheap and nice, the high waisted shorts I wore actually have daisy floral prints so I decided to pair it up to create this Floral x Floral looks!

-Planning for a trip- 

Let's talk about planning for a trip! The only big thing I have plan by myself will be planning an outings with friends and I am not really good in planning stuff but during the weekend I'm going overseas with my cutie pie and over the past few weeks we have been planning about it, so I have learn a thing or two so I'd like to share! 

1) Research + More Research 

Before choosing the country you want to go, it'll be nice to do some research about the place to see if there are any interesting thing you wanna do and make sure it's the country you actually wants to go and within the budget. 

2) Booking Tickets 

Using google or any search engine, there will be lots of booking website to chose from which meant there will also be lots of good deals to hunt for. 

To save money on tickets, it'll be nice to get those discounted ones or get tickets at a lower prices. It's okay to spend long hours at it cause saving money on tickets actually means more money to spend on the trips itself.

3) Location , Location. 

So now you have the tickets, it's not yet done! Time to pick the prime location to go, you can find this kind of things easily on the internet but it'll be better to read reviews on blogs and judge for yourself which location will be worth going. 

Usually, I'll read more than a few blogs before making a list of where to go and I'll also check the prices to make sure it's affordable. 

4) Scheduling 

With the whole list of location in mind, there will always be situation in which there are not enough time for everything. In order to avoids the dissappointment during the trip, it'll be good to do scheduling by listing the most important activities to do to the list and make a schedule or timeline. 

And in cases where you realized there isn't enough time for it, eliminate those unwanted activities. 

5) Outfit : Looking Fabulous 

For Outfit freak like me, I'll always plan my outfit ahead if not I'll panic like crazy or I'll be stuck in the toilet for an hour or more and that won't be nice for the trip! 

So I'll pack a few outfits depending on how many days I'm going to make sure I can get nice outfit shots and look great in photos when I'm overseas! 

6) Exchanging Money: Budgeting 

This is the most important step, to create the right budget and amount of money to exchange. For people that doesn't like to carry much cash around, it'll just be a balance of cash vs Visa cards. 

7) Ready to gooooo, just remember to wake up for the flight and have lots of fun!
